Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod. With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs. We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at MACC.
Overview:
To provide professional nursing care and support for office patients receiving treatments, examinations, evaluations, etc. Through the nursing process of assessment and evaluation while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of departmental policy.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Under the direct supervision of the Physician or Operations Manager, assist in providing nursing care to office patients. Triage and evaluate patients, obtain major complaints and brief medical history when necessary and take vital signs with complete chart documentation (including name, medical record #, allergies, current medications with routine update with each visit).
2. Obtain patient's current medication regimen, refill medication orders in the office or over the telephone under a physician's supervision and document same. Assist physician with pap smears and minor surgical procedures.
3. Track and monitor results of laboratory work and other outside tests, record results of pap smears, mammograms, etc. Implement physician's orders for EKG's, Holter monitors, dressing changes, suture removal, ear lavages, routine injections. Obtain necessary consents when required.
4. Answer general health questions for patients via telephone or in office with advice, referral, or appointment under physician's direction. Triage telephone calls with complete follow-through.
5. Maintain, order and stock necessary supplies, equipment, precautionary cart and pharmaceuticals weekly. Clean EKG machine, scrubbing and bagging any instruments and following closing procedures at night.
6. Obtain verbal and written reports from outside agencies such as, VNA, radiology, or other physician's office with timely, concise transmittal to physician.
7. To maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information. Serve as an advocate and provide a safe and secure environment. Participate in identification of the important aspects of care for each patient, the identification of indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care.
8. Assess personal and learning developmental needs and act as a resource person. Participate in nursing and unit staff meetings and other activities which promote the growth and developmental of nursing and patient care.
9. Assist with secretarial/clerical duties as needed including scheduling, greeting and registering patients, filing incoming paperwork, copying medical records, answering phones, taking messages and faxing.
10. Perform other work related duties as requested/directed. Work cooperatively with co-workers and communicate politely with department employees, patients, visitors and other personnel within and outside the hospital.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Minimum of two years experience in a clinical setting preferred. Experience of current office technology. Proficient in computer office applications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
