Description:
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and Infection Control standards.
Responsible for delivery of non-controlled patient specific medications in a timely manner.
Responsible for Inventory, Receiving and/or Mailroom assignments.
Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, and reconciles shipping documents with corresponding invoices.
Inspects shipments for damages, defects or discrepancies.
Records information and notifies Pharmacists or Pharmacy Manager.
Separates and stages incoming goods for distribution to appropriate department or entity.
Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Rotates older stock to the front and newer stock to the back.
Checks Inventory areas monthly for expired products on shelves and follows Department Expired Goods Policy.
Responds to and processes all requests for supplies per Pharmacists / Pharmacy manager Maintains cleanliness and cleans Pharmacy Department specific supply storage carts and shelves.
Performs daily and monthly cleans of Main Pharmacy Cleanrooms and Anterooms post successful training and didactic competency validation in the area of Cleanroom Cleaning and Disinfection.
Picks up and delivers supplies, orders, and incoming/outgoing and inter-facility mail for Cape Cod Hospital Pharmacy department.
Assist with departmental bulk and/or floor stock charging.
Participates in educational programs, in-services and meetings as required.
Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested per Pharmacists or Pharmacy Manager.
Qualifications:
Inpatient Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician - Grade S8, Job Code 7210 Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
High school diploma or GED.
Massachusetts state registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or equivalent certification.
One-year recent experience (within the past 3 years) as a Pharmacy Technician; 3 years preferred, OR PTCB certification or equivalent certification as an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
Duties require very good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee - Grade S7:
Job Code - 7211 Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
High school diploma or GED.
Massachusetts state registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
Duties require very good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Must obtain PTCB certification or equivalent within 1 year of hire.
Upon obtaining PTCB certification or equivalent certification, incumbent will transfer into the Pharmacy Technician Grade 8 position.
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Will Train/Apprentice - Grade S6A - 10702 High School graduate or GED.
Mathematical skills at the level of a High School graduate or equivalent, as demonstrated by successful completion of a timed Pharmacy math test.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently.
Possesses basic computer/keyboarding skills necessary to run multiple Pharmacy specific applications and communicate efficiently via the messaging system.
Must complete a Pharmacy Tech online course from an accredited institution within 1 year of hire.
Must become Nationally Certified within 6 months of completion of online Pharmacy Tech course.
Upon obtaining National certification or equivalent, incumbent will transfer into the Pharmacy Technician Grade 8 position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
