4K a year The Manager, Inventory Control is responsible for ensuring that critical medical/surgical supplies are readily available to all clinicians practicing at Cape Cod Health.
This position requires a high level of service orientation and effective communication with many major clinical areas and numerous suppliers serving the organization.
The incumbent is the leader and technical expert responsible for all activities regarding complex perpetual and periodic medical/surgical supply inventories.
This includes setting levels, requisitioning, verifying/expediting with suppliers, evaluation substitutions, expiration dating, accounting, etc.
This leader schedules, plans, assigns, and guides the activities of those on their team.
The incumbent is expected to design and implement new procedures for inventory control and customer needs satisfaction required by changing conditions.
Description:
Serve as the subject matter expert regarding various critical medical/surgical supply inventories for clinicians, suppliers, and Procurement Services.
Enforce established policies and procedures for inventory management and replenishment.
Ensures the accuracy and completion of fiscal transactions and financial performance relating to budgets and general asset management.
Provide daily leadership for frequent situations occurring outside of routine practices.
These include supplier backorders, substitute items, item availability concerns, etc.
Provide communication and advice to clinical customers regarding supply changes and availability.
Research and promptly resolve purchase order, receiving, and invoice matching issues related to inventory.
Communicate with numerous suppliers as necessary to research problems, investigate alternatives, and obtain what clinicians require in line with contracts and inventory principles.
Work collaboratively with Nurse Managers and other department leaders throughout the CCHC network to establish delivery routines and maintain control of supply and equipment levels to maximize efficiencies and minimize cost at the user levels.
Work collaboratively with Supply Chain and Inventory Control personnel to ensure established supply inventory levels are maintained at all user level locations.
Schedule and supervise annual inventory counts and coordinate closely with Internal Audit to ensure acceptable count processes.
Maintains confidentiality, integrity and ethics in work performance and relationships.
Displays a team approach by communicating with others, integrating, and accepting ideas and accepting and offering help to others.
Is respectful of the cultural differences that may exist between the various departments and facilities within the CCHC system.
Conducts meetings with key suppliers and department staff to improve processes and reporting tools.

Works in collaboration with Materials Management/Distribution concerning all aspects of inventory and distribution.
Organizes and prioritizes time and resources to manage efficiency.
Remains current of new trends and best practices in inventory control and incorporates into supply chain management practices and programs.
Creates and maintains a satisfying workplace that fosters professional growth and job satisfaction for all members of the healthcare team.
Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.

Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
5 years progressively responsible materials management experience in an inventory healthcare environment is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of inventory control methods and information systems.
Work independently and utilize effective time management.
Meeting facilitation, leadership, organization, change management and presentation skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
